Of all the religions, philosophies, and political movements that could be embraced, why should someone choose Christianity? Why should someone commit his life to the person and teachings of Jesus Christ? The goal of "Why Christianity?" is two-fold: (1) to bolster the confidence that Christians have in their faith, and (2) to create interest for non-Christians as they explore the truths of Christianity. My hope is that though reading this book Christians will be more confident in their faith than they have ever been. My hope for non-Christians is that they will take an honest look at the claims and effects of Christianity, and that they will see the beauty and hope that emanate from the Christian faith.
"A Simple Guide to Understanding the Bible" a tool to help us unravel some of the mystery and complexity of the greatest book ever written. After decades of both formal and personal study of the Bible, I've come to believe that if we never see the whole picture, and we never have a broad understanding, then the Bible will remain forever mysterious, confusing, and elusive. We need to know the basics: (1) the facts, (2) the theme, (3) the story, (4) the characters, and (5) the books. Once we have a proper understanding of these five areas, we can then dive deeper and gain a more thorough understanding of Christian theology and the deeper aspects of the faith. But without a proper understanding of these five areas, the Bible will remain little more than a series of random characters and interesting stories. This book is a tool to give us an overall understanding of the Bible so we can then apply to our lives the life-changing truths that are found within.
